Welcome to our new school
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our school website. We hope it will give you a sense of who we are, what our values are and what is important to us.
Our school, Trinity Primary School, is situated In the urban heart of Tuam town. We opened our doors for the first time on September 2nd, 2019. Our new school is the amalgamation of three schools (Presentation Primary School, Scoil Mhuire Primary School and St Patrick’s Primary School) -all of which have offered both a solid and a holistic education to the community of Tuam for centuries.
The staff of Trinity Primary School are truly committed to ensure that this strong tradition of education continues here in Tuam by facilitating effective learning through quality teaching methodologies in a caring environment. The children’s acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits is the central focus for Trinity Primary School and we will use the resounding successes of the three schools as a foundation on which to move forward.
Trinity Primary School presently exists on three campuses providing educational experiences for both boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
Campus 1-Presentaion Primary School/Campus 2-Scoil Mhuire Primary School/Campus 3-St Patrick’s Boys Primary School.
We have been granted a new build on a 14-acre green field site which will house our 810 students, 75 teachers and 30 SNA’s under one roof.
As this building process advances our school will continue to offer the community of Tuam, a school which has a welcoming, nurturing, happy, safe and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
Our school is a vibrant and multicultural community which embraces all creeds, religions and backgrounds while promoting and cherishing our Catholic values of love, respect and equality.
Our school affords many opportunities for our pupils to enhance and develop their own strengths and talents as we focus hugely on the development of the holistic child. Sport/Music/Quiz Teams/ STEM are all an integral part of our weekly activities and each child is supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
All of the progressive experiences afforded to the children within our school emanate from our school motto which is ‘Ni neart go cur le cheile’– There is no strength without unity. Each facet of our school community work in partnership daily -teachers, SNA’S , children, parents and local community- to promote positive educational opportunities for all the children.
As Principal of Trinity Primary School, I feel privileged to be leading such a positive and proactive school community. I firmly believe we should all stand proud of our daily endeavours. We hope you enjoy looking at the creative work, innovative activities and many successes that happen in our school and this should give some indication of the warm and happy atmosphere the staff, children and parents create.
Le gach dea-ghui,
Loraine Burke
