Massive thanks to Cumann na mBunscoil, Gaillimh fo Massive thanks to Cumann na mBunscoil, Gaillimh for affording our talented 6th class student Selin Hlavata the amazing opportunity to play in the exhibition game at half time in the Leitrim/Galway Connacht Semi final last Saturday. Selin thoroughly enjoyed her experience and here is hoping she will continue to enjoy playing ladies football... Everybody in TPS is very proud! 🥳🥳.
A Day in Ms. Carroll’s Senior Infant Class ☺️ 🧪 We A Day in Ms. Carroll’s Senior Infant Class ☺️
🧪 We started our day with a science experiment to investigate which materials are waterproof. Using a water dropper, we tested tinfoil, paper towels, cotton wool, baking paper, fabric, and plastic. We discovered that tinfoil was the most waterproof material. It was great fun!
🏃Next, we enjoyed an energetic movement break with the “Wiggle Dance.”
📖During our literacy stations, we took part in a variety of fun activities. We played our favourite sight words game, BAM, children are making fantastic progress with their sight words.
💰In maths, we focused on learning about money. The children exchanged coins for cubes to help them understand the value of each coin. We discussed what things we could buy with the money that we had.
☘️In Gaeilge, the children listened to the story An Fear Sinséir. Afterwards, they took turns acting out the story, which they really enjoyed.
☔We ended the day by reciting our poem “Dripsy Dropsy” and creating colourful umbrellas for our rain-themed artwork.
What a great day in our classroom!👏👏
Mrs. Mullins 4th Class enjoyed a walk to the playg Mrs. Mullins 4th Class enjoyed a walk to the playground today giving everyone a chance to relax, chat with friends, and enjoy the fresh air. It was good for the wellbeing! 😊 They enjoyed some free play in the playground and were delighted to discover that the bulbs they planted earlier in the year have grown into beautiful flowers. 🌷🌸🌹🌼

🌍🌱 Earth Day 2026 at TPS 🌎🌳 Most classes made the 🌍🌱 Earth Day 2026 at TPS 🌎🌳
Most classes made the best of the fine weather last week to take time to appreciate the beauty of the community we live in.
Children took time to admire the flowers and trees, smell the freshly cut grass, appreciate the calmness of a river and to feel the sun shining in their faces. In a world that is so busy it’s so important to pause and appreciate the simple things around us.
Other classes helped to keep our earth litter free by litter picking around the yards.
We only get one world. We need to protect and appreciate it. 🌏
