Trinity Primary School has two dedicated Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinators ( Shairi O’Donnell and Edel Cunniffe) whose job is to provide an essential link between home, school and the local community.

The HSCL scheme recognises the role of parents as the primary educators of their children and the influence that the home environment has on a child’s educational experience. Parents are encouraged to participate more fully in their children’s education and to become more involved in the life of the school. We encourage parents to become aware of their own ability in enhancing their children’s educational progress.

Parental involvement in the school community is a major focus for our HSCL and we work with parents/guardians in a number of ways:

  • Supporting

Parental support through personal contact and home visits.

  • Organising

Organising school and locally based activities and classes aimed to encourage training, leisure and up-skilling activities for parents.

  • Inclusion

Actively involving parents/guardians in their children’s education e.g. through projects such as P.E.E.P, Maths for Fun and Cuddle and Read.

  • Guidance

Supporting transitions from Preschool Primary School Secondary School.

  • Collaborating

Working with relevant community agencies that play a role in the life of the child.

We run parent classes and coffee mornings most Tuesdays at 11am in Campus 3, so please keep an eye on this webpage or on social media about upcoming courses. Courses may range from crafty courses such as cooking lessons, knitting, wellbeing, exercise, to more academic courses such as school ICT support or Literacy based courses.

Remember, the HSCL Scheme is there for the benefit of you and your children. Its success depends on your input! Everybody works together with the best interests of the children in mind. So, if you have any ideas, concerns or opinions please share them with us.
